Baptism

We celebrated another milestone in Payton's life yesterday. She was baptised at the 11 am Watershed service by Trent. It was a great service and a very special day. She wore the same dress & booties as I did for my baptism and was baptised with Jordan River water that I brought back from Israel over 10 years ago. Bryan laughed that I was thinking so far ahead so many years ago...I guess it's a girl thing. Following the service we were able to go back to Papa & Amma's house for some Hog Wild BBQ & Cake.
We were able to share the day with so many of our family members and friends. We are so blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives. They were willing to take time out of their busy lives to celebrate this wonderful day with us.

We have arrived...Payton slept through the night!!!

Thursday night Bryan & I got a taste of what a full nights sleep feels like...again. It was also the first night she slept in her crib. She has been sleeping in a bassinet next to our bed for the past six weeks. But we thought it was time for her to sleep in her 'big girl bed' (that is what daddy calls it:)

I fed her at 11:00 and put her in her crib around 11:45. She fussed for about 20 min but then fell asleep. At 3:00 am I woke up thinking she would wake up anytime then I woke up again at 4:30 wondering if she was still breathing. I stared at our video monitor for a while trying to see her tummy move. She stirred a little so I felt a lot better. :) Seven o'clock rolled around and she was STILL sleeping. I had to wake her up at 7:30 because I needed to feed her... for my own sake.

Blogging 101 & Baby 101

I'm not exactly sure how this whole 'blogging' thing works so I'm going to try and give it a whirl. I have some extra time on my hands now that I'm on maternity leave so we'll see what happens. Well, I guess it's not extra time it's just different time...time that I am enjoying VERY much.

Let's see where should I start this...well, I am learning to be a mom & getting to know Payton more each day. Some days I feel like she's been here forever but others I look at her and still can't believe she's mine. We are working on the whole 'schedule' thing. She is doing really well with eating on a schedule, it's the sleeping thing that I'm not sure how to nip in the bud. Night isn't the problem (she slept from 12 midnight until 6:30am last night!!!), naps and bed time is. I'm sure we'll get there and maybe she's still too young to have that all figured out...I don't know.
