Great Fathers

God has blessed my life by placing in it great fathers. Although not all of those great fathers are MY fathers but they are all great reminders of the love of my Heavenly father. It is easier to imagine Gods love when you see a glimpse of it here on earth.
To keep this post a reasonable length I am only going to talk briefly about two of those fathers...Bryan & my dad.
I was greatly blessed to have married a man that I thought was going to be a great dad. It's one thing to think that but it is another to see it every day. He is amazing! I love watching him with Payton. The way she smiles when he walks in the door, the way he plays with her and makes her laugh...She has definite potential to become a Daddy's Girl...big time! He also does so much to help me. He is always willing to drop her off in the morning, pick her up at night, watch her so I can go out on a week night, keep her entertained while I work around the house...he helps make me the best mommy I can be & that means SO much. I'm so lucky that he chose me!
I love you Babe!Next is my dad...my superman. Bryan always jokes that I think he walks on water. (What girl doesn't think that about her dad? :) My dad is another amazing man and father. He is so handy, creative, always willing to help out, and the man can also fix anything! If you know my dad...you know this is true. I love him so much & glad God blessed me with such a great dad.
I love you Dad!Bryan had a good first father's day. Starting on Saturday afternoon when Payton gave him his gift...4 stackable plastic chairs. It sounds lame, I know but 'guys' night sometimes takes place at our house on Wed night & we had 3 chairs...2 of which were broken. Now the boys have a place to sit. Then, on Sunday morning during morning nap I made him a great breakfast, omelet, bacon, sausage, toast, coffee...I had some as well so I know it was good. :) Later in the day we headed to Mom & Dad Myrick's for a great lunch. Payton got grandpa some beach toys to keep on the boat, she was very excited that he said she could play with them with him.
In the evening we went to meet my parents, Bec & the Kids, and Heather at the barn for some V.I.

My Best Friend's Wedding

Mr. & Mrs. Joshua & Alisa Vance
June 12, 2009

Miss Alisa Potter turned to Mrs. Alisa Vance this past Friday. It was a beautiful day for a wedding and she made such a beautiful bride...very Grace Kelly-ish. The day started with the usual hair & make-up and all the fun pre-wedding details. Then it was off to the church for wardrobe and pictures. Of course...the main event...the ceremony. We then hopped on the 'tumble bus' and bounced to the beach. Lastly we partied until midnight at 'Til Midnight.
Congrats Alisa & Josh! The Bridesmaids & Flower girl Josi PotterWhat a beautiful bride! The Wedding PartyThe mother of the bride & the girls. Rachel & I. Check out our shoes!Becca, Julie, Tiffanie, Alisa, Lisa & Jordan

Seeking Motherly Advice

Now that P knows how to stand up in her crib, this is ALL she wants to do. She doesn't want to sleep, just stand.
Yesterday afternoons nap went like this...put her down at 3:30, she stood up walked around her crib quietly until about 3:45, started to sob softly around that same time, started to scream at about 3:55, I went in there at about 4:10 to try to calm her down, did calm her down, put her back in her crib at around 4:20, screamed immediately and continued until 5:10 when I finally could not take it any longer. I thought she would just get tired and lay down or at the very least...fall down...nope, didn't happen.
Yup...that was her nap.
How do I get the child to nap instead of stand up & cry??? Help! :)

Standing Tall

I put Payton down for her nap this afternoon & about 5 minutes into it I checked the video monitor because she was still chatting with herself, and found her standing up in her crib for the first time.
Time to lower the crib.

To: All Who Believe in Me

From: God

Subject: Life's Problems

Good Morning. I am God. Today I will be handling all of your problems.
Please remember that I do not need your help.

If the devil happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle,
DO NOT attempt to resolve it. Kindly put it in the
SFJTD (something for Jesus to do) box.
It will be addressed in MY time, not yours.

Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold on to it or
attempt to remove it. Holding on or removal will delay the
resolution of your problem.

If it is a situation that you think you are capable of handling,
please consult me in prayer to be sure that
it is the proper resolution.

Because I do not sleep nor do I slumber, there is no need for you to lose any sleep. Rest my child. If you need to contact me,
I am only a prayer away.

I will be with you always.......

First Steps

I feel like there should be more time in between these last two posts but...so it is. Payton took her first two steps on her own yesterday afternoon. We were sitting on the floor with just a little space between us and she took two steps without help!

Watch Out...She's On the MOVE!

Payton is officially on the move! Last Wed. she really started to crawl. Bryan & I are so entertained watching her scoot all over. We are definitely getting more exercise as well chasing her all over. No cupboard is safe and Chester is now fighting for his toys.
