Barns & Babies
Last Saturday our house was the talk of the neighborhood...cement trucks, pettibones, flatbeds...all for our new addition, our new shed! It was quite the ordeal. Bryan sold a house down the road to friends of ours. The house had this shed and a larger barn. They didn't want the shed so...we took it off their hands.Bryan, Leeuw & Parker worked all afternoon while Payton, Griffin & I hung out inside. I have to say that 'work' might be the wrong word because they looked like they were highly enjoying themselves.
Do to all the commotion there were a lot of visitors throughout the afternoon....again making the 'work' that much less 'work'.Bryan, like every typical male, is very excited about his new 'toy' and I am excited to have my garage not over run with 'junk'.

The Big 3-0
My Fossil of a husband turned thirty this past Friday!
So in celebration of that I decided it would be fun to throw him a surprise 30th birthday roast.
Nothing fancy just some good friends, good drinks, and good laughs.
We started the evening by going out for dinner at Boatwerks with the Browns. I had Bobbo call Bryan during dinner & tell him a few people were meeting at the Brewery for some drinks. Bryan took the bait. When we got to the Brewery, waiting for us in the side game room were a big group of Bryan's friends & family and a great big 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY'. He was surprised and loved every second of it. As one of his parent's good friends said, " He's like a butterfly in a field of flowers".
The roasting was fun. Garv, Bob, Jamie & Worm did a great job. I wish I could post some of it but it's all recorded on Heather's camara...sorry. Some main points were of course...the hair, or lack there of...him being a real estate mogal...and his younger, less wise days.
Shockingly I pulled it off...with the help of a few other key people, thanks Jamie, Bob, the Browns, Mom M and of course Dave White.
Thank you to everyone who made it out to celebrate. We are so greatful to have such wonderful & loving friends!

First...
Here are a few 'firsts'
I knew she was going to love this because she loves taking baths. The video we have of her just squealing with delight are so adorable and watching her made me smile.
I was not sure how she would react to sand. Cousin Ava does not like sand at all...at least up until about 4 days ago that is. :) Payton loved it. She is really into textures so for her she was in heaven. A lot was eaten but even that...she didn't mind.
I think she would have sat like this all day if I let her. Unfortunately for her, we couldn't rig up the umbrella waterside so she had to settle for little stints at a time. The salt didn't seem to faze her at all, she might have even liked it...yuck!
Thought we were really cool in the 'big girl' seat. My parent's people mover is what we had for transportation down there so she sat sideways because the rear facing seats do not have seat belts. She loved watching everyone and I have a feeling she is not going to like her 'little' seat for much longer.
Yup...that is what I said. Ava loves lemons so we thought we would try it out on P. As you can see by the look on her face you can tell she didn't enjoy it that much, yet...she continued to suck on it...hummm. Must be her father's child.
It is tradition to take a family picture every year. Usually it is done on the beach with all of us in shorts & short sleeves but this year the night of the picture (Matt's last night) it was windy & a little chilly so we found another spot that looks just as nice.

First Flight
Payton experienced her first plane ride on Friday. I have to admit I was really nervous about it. Clearly I've never traveled with my own infant and I have heard horror stories about other people's travels. But with lots of prayer and great flight times...she did AWESOME. Our first flight was a short one and it was at 6 am so she slept through that. Our 'long' flight was during nap time so she slept for almost all of that. I was so proud of her. I pray that our return trip goes just as smoothly but for now we are enjoying the sunny worm weather and do not even want to think about going home! :)
