Beach Adventures

The first Friday we owned our boat the weather was too perfect not to take an evening trip to the beach and meet up with Mimi & Grandpa as well as a few friends. It took the 'sting' out of the purchase for Bryan. It doesn't get more perfect than this.

C's New Smile

Back In July, while at a friend's house, we had a tragic tooth lose.
C's tooth met G's head.
G's head - 1, C's tooth - 0
After hearing the commotion from the kitchen I went to investigate. Because C tends to react the same way (hysterically) to every injury, big or small. I was not alarmed but when I opened his mouth to assess the injury I discovered the tooth was missing! Clearly more tragic then I thought. The tooth was found about 4 feet away from the scene of the crime under a table...yup, they hit hard. Luckily the tooth broke clean and the root came with it.
After some ice and a call to Aunt Becky (who works in the dental industry) we determined no trip to Prime Care or anything was necessary just a phone call to the dentist the next morning (to be 100% sure the entire root came out clean).
Dr. B verified the tooth came out clean and was sure the tooth had sustained an 'injury' before hand causing the root to start to die. G had no sign of injury on his head so he thinks they may not have hit as hard as originally thought.
Anyway, C got a new smile and it's super cute. Good thing too because he is going to have it for a few years.

Tragic Tooth lose warrants a stay in Mom & Dad's bed.
So stinkin' Cute!
Of course the Tooth Fairy came! There is serious inflation when your brother's head causes the tooth to fall out.

Fun at the Fair

I was excited for the fair this year because I knew the boys would love the off road derby and the tractor pulls. Well guess what? I was right. P of course loved the rides and was excited about the night of Daddy's work picnic when she could play a game. Oh, and they all love the animals of course.

July 4th

When it comes to holidays I love having traditions and want to have them mainly for my kids because there is nothing better than looking forward to a holiday because you know exactly what the day is going to look like. Well, I think it's safe to say we have a 4th of July tradition...well, traditions I guess.
The kids and I always start the day at the Graafschap Fire Department pancake breakfast. It's the kids and I because Bry does not like pancakes. I know, I know, the horror of that! ;-)

We then meet up with daddy at Graafschap Church for the 'car show'. Which is so much more than a car show really. The Critter barn is always there, there are a few games & crafts for the kids, barrel rides, carriage rides, a playground...like I said, so much more.

After that we hit the beach...if it's nice of course which it has been for the past few years...knock on wood. This year was fun because we were able to take our own boat out and did not have to rely on the waves being zero to none (so we could take the dingy) or have to be on someone else's schedule. It was really really great.

Then, if that wasn't a long enough day, we cook out at the marina and enjoy some fireworks when it finally gets dark. What is the 4th of July without fireworks! G was able to join us this year for the first time. He thought they were cool.

This year we added 'sleeping on the boat' to the adventures. The kids loved it, mommy & daddy will have to figure out a more comfortable way to sleep on the thing that is for sure.

1, 2, 3 : First Time at the Zoo

It's been about twenty-two years (if not more) since I have been to the zoo. Not just John Ball Zoo but any zoo. It was high time I went and I was excited to share the day with my littles and their Auntie J. Even though we had a full week of VBS we managed to fit the trip into Auntie J's time off. I am so glad we did. It's hard to tell who had more fun...the kids or the adults. :)

Ice Cream after a long day.

Petting the Sting Rays. I think I'm good with this activity for the rest of my life.

Group picture at the top of the zoo.

C actually touched a goat! This may not be a big deal for some but for him, it's epic!
The tigers recently arrived at the zoo and have only been in this encloser for 2 weeks. We were around the encloser for about a half hour having a snack and playing on the play ground and this is the only time he came close to the glass. He walked right up then walked right away. It was really, really cool.
