7 Months - Grant Michael

Sweet Boy,
I won't comment on how time has just flown by these past 7 months because that is how I start everyone of these blog posts but...they have. :) I love you more every day. Just watching you sit and play makes me smile. Often times when you are sitting and playing you will look up and catch my eye and give me a huge smile and giggle. Sometimes you 'flap' your arms in excitement...like you haven't seen me all day. It's adorable.
Besides that here are few things about what life as Grant Michael is like these days.

Sleep -  Your sleep habits have not really changed over the past month so I will keep this update short and sweet. You are still taking 3 naps a day, morning, afternoon (taken in the pack n' play) and evening.  You got to bed around 7:45/8pm, sleep until 6am, nurse then go back to sleep in the pack n' play in our room until 8 or 9.
Eating -Still loving food however, we have come to discover you are not a fan of ALL food. You much prefer fruit over veggies and meat, you can't stand ham & gravy and peas, and you prefer store bought over homemade. Sweet potatoes are your favorite veggie and basically the only one you will eat (hopefully this is just a phase), Apples and blueberries are you favorite fruit food (don't blame you I still like this!), and you just started to eat puffs and have taken a liking to them.
You are still nursing once a day and that is when you wake up around 6 am. It is followed by a 6 oz bottle. Cereal & fruit are your 'real' breakfast (8:30/9am). Lunch is Veggies and either fruit or meat with a 4 oz formula bottle. Around 4 you get another 4 oz bottle then for dinner, when we eat, you get veggies and meat or fruit depending on what you didn't get for lunch. You finish the day with a 6 oz bottle. You don't take bottles well when there is 'stuff' going on or when your siblings are in the room so I take you upstairs and rock you in your room for this bottle. It is one of my favorite (if not the favorite) times of the day. Just me and you snuggle time. Most nights you fall asleep and often I hold you even after you are sound asleep and pray for you and thank God for the gift you are.
Diaper Size -I wanted to move you up to 4's and Charley back down to 4's so there would be only one size diaper in our house but Meijer had a really good deal on diapers that if you bought 2 giant packs then you got a $15 dollar gift card and of course all the 4 Pampers Cruisers were gone so I had to get you 3's and Charley 5's so for now, that is what you are in. They still fit I was just trying to switch you out of convenience. :) Have I ever mentioned that is the type of diaper you wear? Well, you do. I don't really like any other kind. Not even other types of Pampers...like the baby dry...yuck.
Clothes  -Nothing has changed here in the last month. Still in 6 to 9, 9 mo and a few 12 mo.
Activities - Play, play, play. Laugh, Laugh, Laugh. Smile, smile, smile. This is what you do these days and what you have been doing for the past 7 months. You also make people love you by just smiling back at them. They comment on how happy and smily you are...as well as how chubby you are but everyone thinks it is so cute. I have to agree!! :)
Other Happenings - You got your first tooth!! I noticed on Sunday July 29 that your left bottom tooth finally broke through.

I love watching you grow, learn and discover. You make me smile Sweet Boy!
I Love You.

My Sleeping Beauties

There is nothing as sweet as a sleeping child.
I just had to grab the camera last night when I got home and went in to kiss my kiddos goodnight.

My Babies - 6 Months

Totally bias but I think they are the cutest 6 month olds I've ever seen! :)
I also think God has a 'Myrick' mold up there because they all look very similar. Especially Payton & Grant.

6 Months - Grant Michael

Big Guy -
Oh Grant Michael, where oh where has the time gone? 1/2 a year already! Wow. You are pure joy. Always smiling and laughing and loving life. You can always make me smile (and most other people you meet for that matter). A 'fan favorite' as I like to say. I could not have asked for a better baby. You do my heart good little man.
Payton and Charley both adore you and love making you smile and laugh. They both insist on calling you Grant Michael. Payton even corrects people when they just call you Grant. It's cute. Charley wants to know where you are and what you are doing at all times. He really likes watching you sleep on the monitor, "Grant Michael sweepin" is what he says. I am excited to see your relationship grow into friendship in the coming years.
You could not be more loved!
Sleep - You sleep good. Not great, but good. You are still taking 3 naps a day. One in the morning, usually around 9:30 for approx. 1.5 hours, maybe 2 if you go down early. Another one in the afternoon around 1:00/1:30. This one can be 3 hours long but you tend to take about a 1/2 hour 'break' but go back down after that and sleep until 4 or 5. The 3rd nap is around 6:30 and just a 1/2 or 20 minutes long. You end your day around 8 or 8:30 wake up around 6:30am, eat real quick and go back down until 8 or 8:30.
Eating -You love to eat and it's a lot of fun to feed you. We started oatmeal cereal and baby food this month and you could not be happier about it. Payton and Charley never really cared for cereal and we barely went through one box. You however, are already on your second box. I made baby food this week so I am hoping you like the homemade stuff as much as the store bought. You eat when you wake up in the morning around 6:30, this is just breast milk then you go back to bed. When you wake up at a normal hour :), usually around 8 or 8:30, you get cereal & fruit. At noon you again get cereal and fruit/veggies and breast milk. My guess is you get about 4 oz. At 4 you get a 6 oz bottle of formula. When we eat dinner or close to it you get cereal with fruit/veggies. Then you get breast milk and a 6 oz bottle before bed. Again, it's a guess but I assume you get about 8 to 10 oz total.
Diaper Size -Still in 3's big cheese. Could probably wear 4's but the 3's work so we are sticking with them until we have a lot of blow outs.
Clothes  -Mainly 6 to 9 & 9 month stuff. A few of Charley's 12 month summer stuff fits which is great.
Activities - You love to sit on the floor and play with your toys. You are an expert sitter now and barely ever fall over so you love to show it off. We have been doing a lot of swimming this summer because it has been really hot. You get excited when you are in your water wrap and splash the water. You also like to sit on the top step and do the same.
Stats - 20 lb 7 oz (85th %)
27 1/4 inchs (50th %)

I thank God for blessing us with you every day. I pray you continue to grow into a happy, healthy little boy and you keep smiling your big smile throughout life.
Love you so very much Grant Micheal!
Always, Mommy
