Wednesday Beach Day

Wednesday Payton & I met Julie, Josi & Alisa out at the beach...along with other 'Prins' Family ladies. It turned out to be a beautiful day and was absolutely perfect on the beach. We go to the 'Big Red' side and it is so peaceful and quiet and spacious. It is way different then Ottawa Beach (I cringe at the thought...ugh) and it was even nicer then on Sundays when we go. We were literally the only ones on the beach. It was great. I can almost guarantee we will be heading out there again some Wed. afternoon in the near future.
And yes, P's hat does say 'My Mom Rocks'...when it's true, put it on a hat! :)

Chester Turns Two

Our big lug is two years old today! We call him our lucky dog because his birthday is 7-7-07. He's almost like a child so when I say, 'I can't believe he is two years old already'...I really mean it. Time flies even when it comes to your dog. Even though he is naughty and doesn't always listen...he's ours and we love him. We have always been told that age two was the year they get the 'puppy' out of them and really become great dogs...we will see.
Happy 2nd Birthday Big Guy!
10 Weeks Old

Still a lap dog
Nap time
So little
1st Birthday
Not so little
Still thinks he is a lap dog
2nd Birthday
(Kinda looks grouchy...)
*He is still 'in tacked' as they say. So if anyone knows anyone who is looking to breed their (little bit taller then standard) female let us know. We would love to breed him.

Fun Filled 4th

Family
Beautiful Girl

Our holiday weekend was a good one. I took Friday off from work to make it feel more like a holiday....not full time so don't get the 'floating' holiday. We started the morning out by sleeping in...thank goodness Payton had the same idea we did about that. :) Then we 'filled up the tanks' at the Windmill with some really good breakfast. P enjoyed it too. Bryan & I spent Friday afternoon with friends on the boat. We left P with Amma for the day so we could relax without having to worry about nap time and such. I don't think she minded too much.We picked her up for dinner at the Shipyard so she could spend time playing with Adi...and her Aunt Jamie. Jamie was gracious enough to volunteer to take her home & put her to bed so Bryan & I could stay and watch the fireworks with everyone.
Saturday was laid back in the morning. P and I went to the car show at Graafschap Church to see Papa, Amma, Aunt Heather and Ava. She loves all social functions so it is so easy to take her to places like that. Every 4th of July Mom & Dad Myrick's friend Linda has a party at her house on Lake Michigan. It is always fun because Bryan's childhood friends from out of town always come for it. This year was the first time Payton got to meet them...I think she was a hit. :)
Today was another relaxing day. We walked to Big Red in the afternoon so Payton could swim and play in the sand. When we got there Grandpa & Grammi were there on the boat so she got to play with them for awhile. It was a long day for Payton and she was super tired after that so Mommy got some 'couch time' which was nice.
Chester got to play today as well. Asher was home alone so we picked him up and took them both to the barn. He is now sleeping in his corner...ahhh...so nice.
That is about it for the weekend. It was great and I feel like summer is finally here!

Good Reminder

I love this song & think it is a great reminder to everyone who is married or thinking of getting married or whatever. So I'm posting the lyrics & I added it to my playlist. It is called "Love Is Not A Fight". You might recognize it if you saw the movie 'Fire Proof'...if you haven't seen it...WATCH IT! :)

Love is not a place
To come and go as we please
It's a house we answer in
Then commit to never leave

So lock the door behind you
Throw away the key
We'll work it out together
Let it bring us to our knees

Chorus:
Love is a shelter in a raging storm
Love is peace in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave, may God send angels to guard the door
No, love is not a fight but it's something worth fighting for

To some, love is a word
That they can fall into
But when they're falling out
Keeping that word is hard to do

Chorus:
Love is a shelter in a raging storm
Love is peace in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave, may God send angels to guard the door
No, love is not a fight but it's something worth fighting for

Love will come to save us
If we'll only call
He will ask nothing from us
But demand we give our all

Chorus:
Love is a shelter in a raging storm
Love is peace in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave, may God send angels to guard the door
No, love is not a fight but it's something worth fighting for

I will fight for you
Would you fight for me?
It's worth fighting for

Another Tooth

I was starting to wonder if Payton was ever going to get more teeth. She has been 'teething'...drooling, screaming, slightly 'hot' and not sleeping well for the past month and a half. I started wondering if her personality was just changing and it was freakin' me out. The past about 4 days she has been great...sleeping in later, not so drooly, and all around happier. Today I discovered why...New Tooth! The top left one came in and the top right is almost but not quite there.
I am sure she is about as relieved as I am to have them finally here.

Boating & Birthday

This past weekend we got to enjoy some boating & a birthday party.
Saturday was the perfect day to be on the water...calm, sunny & warm. We went with some friends to South Haven for the afternoon and enjoyed a nice dinner down there in the evening. Bryan was really excited to get on a boat and just relax. I have to admit it was definitely needed.
The Girls
The Guys

On Sunday we celebrated my nephew's 9th birthday. I still can not believe he will be NINE years old! If you know my nephew he is the sweetest, kindest nine year old you will ever meet. It is so much fun to watch him grow up into a little man. He is very much a Genzink male...really into cars and fixing thing and creating things out of nothing. Chris, my dad and him could spend days at the barn and not run out of things to do. On top of that he has the kindest heart and is so considerate. Let me tell you, he is going to make some girl VERY happy someday. :)
His actual birthday is this coming weekend but he didn't want his party after his birthday and with the holiday it worked best to have it Sunday.
He was a happy camper after opening all his gifts. He got the two big items he asked for from his Papa's and Grandma's...a Ripe Stick (Skate Board type thing) and a Mongoose (BMX bike). Bryan, Payton & I got him a Star Wars Lego set...something he picked out of course. Every year he finds something in the store he wants and says to Becky, "Call Aunt Lisa and tell her about this. I know she'll just come & get it". He's SO right! Hehehe...I'm such a sucker! However, he never asks for something that is over my 'birthday budget'....see, considerate. :)
