Family Florida Trip

We were blessed again to be able to go to Florida with the family for spring break. This year was a little bit more stressful leading up to the actual vacation due to Direct Air canceling all their flights and scrambling to get new ones. It worked out great however and we were able to enjoy 3 and a half days with just the five of us and my parents. It's great to vacation with the whole crew but we enjoyed our time with our little family as well. The kids were great the whole week and did wonderful on the flights and with the 3 hour delay out of Detroit. Charley officially is a beach bum and Payton a water rat. Grant was happy no matter where he was. We owe a big thank you to my parents for taking us and for all their help with the kids.
We love you Mom & Dad!
Here are a bunch of pictures from our trip. I am a bit of a picture freak if you haven't noticed but I don't want to miss a moment.

God Bless Grant Michael

"But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."
Luke 18:16

We were blessed to celebrate Grant's baptism today. Hearing God's promise to my children never gets old. We pray that Grant seeks his Maker with all his heart and in all he does.

Charley 1.5

Charley Garyson -

Oh little boy, where do I begin. You are 18 months old. You have such a giant personality it's hard to know how to put it into words. You are such a little ham. One part naughty, one part sweet, one part pure fun. People fall in love with you every where we go. At first glance they see this adorable spiky blond haired boy then they see your charming personality...who wouldn't fall in love?! :)
You are a repeater these days. Daddy calls you our parrot. Everything you hear, you say. It's adorable really. Daddy will just sit with you and make you say a 100 different words just to hear you say them. I wish I could record every word you say (but of course, when the camera is on you you don't say much). Let's see, some of your favorite words; Chester, Grant, Bobbo, Daddy, Thank You, TV, Remote, Please, Adi, bowl, blanky, bop...just to name a few.
In some ways you seem much older than you are but in so many others you are still very much a baby. You have been a big brother for 10 weeks now. You love Grant. Your favorite thing is to give him his bop. He may not want it but you don't care. You try to shove it in his month, eyes, nose, ears...anywhere you think it will fit. Grant doesn't always love this but you don't seem to mind.
You are into everything. Everything needs to be touched or picked up or thrown or put in your month...or the toilet. To sum it up, you are busy. But I love it. You keep me on my toes and make me laugh. Which can be a problem because even when you are being naughty, you are being funny so it's really hard not to laugh. You kind of have mommy wrapped around your finger...I'll admit it. I blame it partly on your one dimple...seriously, who can say no to one dimple?! (I do say no but it's hard)
I have really loved watching you and Payton become friends over the past few months. You actually play with each other very well. You do like to push her buttons however and you like to tackle her on occasion. Sometimes she is ok with it but there are other times...she throws a fit and you sit and laugh...until you get in trouble, then you cry. You always cry when I say no.
You are still really into pots & pans. You have your own set (Daddy's old ones from college) but you still prefer mine and I end up having to wash them almost daily. You have now started to play with my cookie sheets too so my wash load is twice as much but you have fun and a little washing is worth it. You have also started to really enjoy coloring. Markers are of course your favorite. I have not decided if you like to suck on them or color with them more. Your month is often a shad of Crayola. Trucks of a hit as well. You have more trucks then you know what to do with. On the other side of trucks, you can be found playing with Payton's Barbies or jewelry or doll house. Any time we open the door you want to go outside. It's been a really nice winter but we haven't really gotten outside much and we found you liked being in the snow for approx. 7.5 minutes at a time. I am excited for this summer because I know you and Payton are going to spend a ton of time outside. You are also really into music. You love making music, listening to music but most of all...dancing to music! :)
Meal time is fun. You eat almost anything that is put in front of you and will make a mess no matter what it is. Applesauce if your favorite food and hair gel. You are required to take a bath after most dinners. (Which is not an activity you get excited about or at least not for more then about 5 minutes) You are a scavenger as well. No matter how much or what you ate, if I have something, you want it and will eat it if I give it to you.
Some other random tid bits...You love, love, love your blanky. It's adorable. You have three of them and prefer to sleep with all three...so much for having an 'extra'. You are wearing 18 month clothing right now but your shirts are getting smaller by the day (see paragraph about food :) so I have been buying 24 month/2T. Still in size 4 diapers and no, we are not even thinking of potty training until after your second birthday unless you tell me otherwise. :)
I love you so much Buddy. I can not wait to see what God has in store for your life. I just know you are going to do great things. I pray you will be a light to the world and show Jesus to everyone who meets you.
Love you Charley Bear,
Mommy

2 Months - Grant Michael

Grant Michael,
You are growing up way too fast. Please slow down. You are such a joy and have been a true blessing. Your smile melts me every time and I thank God everyday for blessing me with you, my sweet surprise. Life at our house is busy but I wouldn't change a thing.
Sleep - You have been sleeping really well at night, about 5 to 6 hours at a time. I get up with you only once and it is usually about 4 am. I don't mind too much. I know that it only lasts a short time and I love snuggling with you no matter what time of day. During the day you don't have a schedule yet but are kind of putting yourself on one. Usually you take a longer nap in the morning, then another one when your siblings sleep/rest, in the evening you take a small one and another short one around 9pm. You are down for the night after your 11pm feeding.
Feeding - You are still mainly breast fed but have taken a few bottles of both 'fresh squeezed' (as Daddy calls it) and formula. You don't seem to care what you get as long as you are being fed. You are eating every 3 to 4 hours during the day and 5 to 6 at night.
Diaper Size- 1
Clothe Size - 3 month & heading into 3 to 6
Activities - You love your jungle gym. You stare and smile at the singing star and have mastered how to make it sing by kicking the posts. Very cute.
Stats - You weighed in at 13 lb 2.5 oz (75th percentile) and measured 23 inches (60th percentile)
All-in-all, you are doing so well and I can't even imagine life without you.
Love you so much little one,
Mommy
(Daddy, Payton & Charley too)

My Babies

Can you tell we're related?! :)
People always ask me who Grant looks more like Payton or Charley so I thought it would be fun to do 'compare' pictures like I did with the belly. Personally I think he looks more like Payton but these pics all look very similar...weird.
