1, 2, 3 : First Time at the Zoo

It's been about twenty-two years (if not more) since I have been to the zoo. Not just John Ball Zoo but any zoo. It was high time I went and I was excited to share the day with my littles and their Auntie J. Even though we had a full week of VBS we managed to fit the trip into Auntie J's time off. I am so glad we did. It's hard to tell who had more fun...the kids or the adults. :)

Ice Cream after a long day.

Petting the Sting Rays. I think I'm good with this activity for the rest of my life.

Group picture at the top of the zoo.

C actually touched a goat! This may not be a big deal for some but for him, it's epic!
The tigers recently arrived at the zoo and have only been in this encloser for 2 weeks. We were around the encloser for about a half hour having a snack and playing on the play ground and this is the only time he came close to the glass. He walked right up then walked right away. It was really, really cool.

Father's Day 2014

Happy Father's Day!
Daddy got a Captain America shirt because the boys are SO into the Marvel Superheros these days. :)

First Boat

Our family dream came true a few weeks ago when this beauty joined our family. (Ok so it's not my fourth baby but I'm still holding out for that one. ;-) We have talked for a few years about getting our own boat but it was never a good time or we just didn't fine the right one for our little family. After looking at a 22" SeaRay right down the street we thought, 'this is our boat'. Turns out that wasn't our boat but lead us to find our boat all the way up in Boyne City by Lake Charlevoix. Bry, my dad and his dad took a Monday to go check it out and towed it all the way back. We couldn't be happier with it. It defines perfect for our family. The kids love the cuddy and we've spent a lot of time on the beach because of it.

They were very excited about the boat Daddy brought home.

Riding Lessons

My little horse nut is finally in the saddle. She started riding lessons back in June and, big shocker, she loves it. The pony she rides name is Dottie and is great for P. Her instructor is someone I grew up going to church and school with and is so wonderful with P. We found the perfect fit as far as a stable goes that is for sure. Cousin Hannah also rides here and we can't wait to have combine lessons with her and maybe even cousin Ava!
It does my heart good seeing her enjoying something so much.

Honoring the Brave - Memorial Day 2014

Our Memorial Day weekend was filled with Hey rides, boat rides, bonfires, parades and friends. As we enjoyed all these things we remember that it is because of those who have served this country that we are able to have such freedom.
Thank you to those brave people and their families!
