First Field Trip - Post Family Farm

Payton had her very first field trip today at Post Family Farm. Although we talked about it a lot last night and in the car on the way she was very confused as to what exactly a 'field trip' was. All she knew was she was going to go on a hay ride, pick a pumpkin, see animals and get a doughnut. All of which made it worth going.
I was able to go with her which was a lot of fun for me. I love watching her experience things like this. We did all of the above mentioned things and even got a pumpkin train ride...bonus! :)
I am sure she will be excited the next time I tell her she gets to go on a field trip.

Trip to Cranes

Sunday afternoon we hopped into Papa's new Jeep and headed to Crane's for donuts, cider and, of course, apple picking. Payton was really excited to pick apples and was a big helper. Charley was not so thrilled about being there, as it was close to nap time, but he made it through by eating an apple in the cart.
Crane's is one of my favorite fall activities and I was extremely happy that it was fall type weather this year instead of the super hot day we went last year.

1st Day of School

Payton had her very first official day of school today. When I woke her up she bounced out of bed and asked 'Can I go to school now Mom?'. She was eger to get dressed and get going. When we got to South Side she spotted Aunt Heather & Ava's car right away. Although Ava was already in class she was happy to know she was at 'her' school too. Before heading inside we were met by the principal, Mr. Brandson, who was my Bible teacher in high school. She thought he was really nice and actually talked to him. (This may come as a shock but she can be shy when meeting new people...seriously, this is true). Then we went in and found her locker. It even had her name on it which was so exciting. Mrs. Van Dyken met us at the door and Payton took to her right away. She asked her to follow her into the classroom & off she went. I had to yell 'Bye Payton. I love you' to which I got 'Bye Mom'...with her back to me. Yup, she was very emotional about it...ha! :)

Her very own locker...with her name on it! Big deal, very big deal! :)
