Beautiful Model

My beautiful baby got her first modeling gig. Ok so it was for Dani Lane which is Aunt Heather's company but it's still modeling. :)
She was a little unsure at first which was surprising because usually she loves the camera but with a little encouragement we were able to capture some beautiful pictures.
Check them out at

To see more Dani Lane Designs check out www.danilanedesigns.com
The website is very much a work in progress so you can also see products at Tip Toes downtown Holland.
Just an FYI for those of you who have 'spitters'...the Ultimate Burp cloth is a MUST have!!! I swear by them. You will never use another burp cloth again.

Dear Lord...

I bring to your feet two tiny lives, Maxwell James & Wesley Michael Wiersma. These tiny boys need you in a BIG way. Wrap them in your arms and hold them tight as they fight a battle that, in our eyes, came too soon. Continue to breathe your breath of life into them. We know Lord you are the Great Miracle Worker and the Giver of Life & that you have the power to over come all odds. We beg for that now.

Lord, as a mom, I can not imagine the fear Kate must be experiencing. I pray for peace for her & Mark. I love what Mark said in his blog a few days ago...may you give them 'the feet to walk the path' you have given them.

Happy Birthday Amma!

One of the things I love is family dinner on Sundays. For years and years it was a weekly or at least bi-weekly activity. Over the past few years it hasn't been that way, which is kinda sad. I have a friend who's entire extended family has dinner every Sunday (or at least they used to) and I always envisioned my family doing the same...at least on a bi-weekly basis. Anyway...not the point.
This is why I love it when we have something to celebrate like we did today. It was my mom's birthday yesterday! I will not say her age for fear of losing my inheritance but I will say it's between 59 and 61. :)
I am very blessed to have my mom and thank God for her everyday. I think I definitely appreciate her more since getting married and becoming a mom myself. She is very selfless when it comes to us kids. She is always willing to help me out when I need it, she is always thinking of me when she is out and about by picking something up that she knows I need or thinks I would like. If ever I need someone to watch Payton she is always willing to rearrange her day if she can to help. She even cleans my house sometimes! I love her VERY much & am glad we were able to celebrate her birthday. I pray there are many more to come.

Here are just a few cute pictures of my sweet baby that are too cute not to post.

Please Pray for the Wiersma Family

Please pray for Mark & Kate Wiersma & their twin boys!!
I don't know the Wiersma's all that well. I work with Mark at the bank & I know Kate from high school but they need prayer and who better to call on to do that then their Family of Believers.
I'm not going to explain the situation myself so I'm posting their blog site so any one who wants to stay updated please check it out.

Blog Slacker

I feel like such a blog slacker but there has not been a lot going on in the Myrick house lately. Therefore not much to write about. At least nothing exciting. So here is a somewhat boring update.
Payton is getting so big and she continues to amaze me with everything she is learning. She's so smart it's crazy. I'm her mommy so of course I think that but this is an example...I ordered 'soft blocks' for her and she got them Saturday. She wasn't sure how she was going to grab these things to put them in her month...because that is where everything goes. Anyway so she was trying to pick them up with one hand but they are big so that wasn't working. I sat down next to her and said, "Payton, pick them up with two hands. Like this." then I showed her. She looked at me and grabbed that block just like I had showed her. It was too cute.
Still no rolling over or crawling but I'm sure that will come in no time at all. I'm actually hoping she does not learn before we go to Florida. That could make for a very interesting/not as relaxing vacation. I probably deserve a bad mommy award for that but...if I can get some extra sun time when her little hiny is sitting on a towel, under an umbrella, watching my nieces & nephew play...I'm good with that.
Chester & Little P are coming great pals. They are really fun to watch. Most of the time Chester is vying for Bryan's attention but she thinks it's all very funny and giggles at his every move. Adorable I tell you!
Bryan & P have a new little 'game' they play that she thinks is the greatest...here it is.

Chi-Town Surprise

This weekend Bryan & I got the chance to go to Chicago to celebrate the engagement of our good friends Jonathan Koop & Betsy Huizenga. They have not been dating that long but they are perfect for each other and we could not be happier for them. He proposed on the beach while on a winters afternoon run...who does that by the way...oh, Koop & Betsy do...any how, Friday night they made their way to Chi-town to 'meet one of her friends for dinner'. She thought they were leaving in the morning to take a flight out of town to go see more of her friends. Instead of dinner she got all of us! What a great trade off. :)
Her reaction was AWESOME! I think she was surprised to say the least.

Digital Scrapbooking

I finally figured out how this whole digital scrapbooking thing works and I'm super excited about it. Forget getting out all the stuff, organizing all the stuff, have to tape, cut & layer all the stuff...then the worst part...cleaning up all the stuff. This digital thing is the way to go.
Here are a few I've done so far. My plan is to catch up with the Little P pages then work backwards from where my actual scrapbook leaves off which I think is...2003...hey, that is only 6 years! :) I've done more pages in the past two weeks then I have in the past 6 years. See how much I hate doing all the stuff with the 'stuff'.
